A Mustachioed Odyssey of Tea, Triumphs, and Taverns

Greetings from the vibrant streets of Chiang Mai! While navigating the bustling markets of Thailand, I'm thrilled to regale you with tales from my recent escapade – a spontaneous journey to the historic city of Boston, commencing from the lush landscapes of Portland, Oregon.

The adventure commenced with a red-eye flight on Alaska Airlines, whisking me from the emerald cityscape of Portland to the cobblestone streets of Boston. Determined to shake off the jet lag, my friend and partner in crime, Ricky, secured seats for the second Bruins match of the season. A night of cheers and celebration ensued, with us meandering back on the T, still riding high on the glory of the win.

Sunday ushered in a change of pace with mini-putt golf and leisurely strolls around the charming neighborhood of JP. With Ricky back at work on Monday, I set out solo to explore the rich history of Boston, visiting iconic sites like the Freedom Trail and immersing myself in the historic vibes of the Green Dragon Bar.

Ah, the Green Dragon Bar, an institution in its own right. Steeped in history, this legendary tavern has been a witness to pivotal moments in American history. Established in 1654, it played a significant role during the days of the American Revolution. It was a favored meeting place for revolutionary leaders such as Paul Revere and John Hancock, where they would gather to discuss plans that would shape the course of history. The Green Dragon Bar is not merely a watering hole; it's a living testament to the spirit of rebellion and camaraderie that fueled the birth of a nation.

Now, let's talk pizza. Regina's Pizzeria, nestled in the heart of the North End, became my go-to spot for mouthwatering slices, solidifying its place as a contender for the best pizza in all of America.

Feeling a bit rebellious on the following day, I embarked on a private mission to host my own Boston Tea Party. Armed with a cup of tea, I made a playful splash by tossing it into the harbor – a nod to history and a moment of pure USA spirit.

Boston “Haa-Bah”

As my Boston escapade came to a close, I opted for a scenic train journey to Newark for the return trip to Portland. The cost-effective and relaxing day on the rails provided a perfect conclusion to an adventure-filled trip. Boston, with its rich history, delectable food, and spirited atmosphere, had truly captured my heart. Until the next journey, stay tuned for more tales from the Traveling Mustache!
